Now this position is controversial since I am part of the news media, even if it is a small part. Here is my justification, what he is saying and doing is only happening because the media gives him a stage. Take away the stage and the man has no where to perform. Listen to his rants about drug use, his bosses at CBS and his latest demand for money he did not earn and clearly he needs help.
We in the media have a responsibility to report the news but at times we also have the job to be responsible journalists. By helping this person to get his message out there we are helping to end his career, his credibility and maybe his life. IF there is such a thing, Sheen thinks he is functional crack user. When he is allowed to speak and people listen this feeling gets boosted. He sees that people are listening and thinks that people are also on his side. Unless you yourself are a crack user I don't think anyone agrees that you can be a casual crack user and function. Not to mention on television representing a network and god forbid having kids and families listening or watching you self destruct.
I think Sheen has been given too much time in the public eye to be an idiot and its time we shut him off, CBS already did.
